ANTONIO PORTELA

Antonio is an Associate Professor at the Department of Didactics and School Organisation, Faculty of Education, where he teaches courses on school organisation, management and leadership, and social justice. Before joining the University of Murcia, he was awarded a research fellowship at the Ministry of Education, Spain and subsequently worked as an evaluator and as a secondary school teacher. His major research areas include student and parent voice in schools, school citizenship and democracy, school partnerships, and institutional theory and schools. He was coordinator of the Erasmus Intensive Programme 'Leadership for democratic citizenship in European schools' (2011-2013) on behalf of University of Murcia.
